    it's more of a need then want.. Not letting water into the rocker panels ( until I can fix the rust ) is the idea

    No it is not a need, mud flaps are not going to prevent further rust where it is already rusting. Rust needs moisture, air has moisture.

    I thought that's what they were designed to do? Keep water off the running boards ( and rocker panels ) anyway.. He's not in a rush to sell them so they aren't important right now

    Mud flaps are designed to keep mud and spray off everyone else. They don't keep YOU clean.

    And those little things don't do squat. They're vanity flaps. Just for show. They gotta be huge to be effective. Think dually.
