Ice fishing is a blast. I went for the 1st time last year and even though my toes were frozen it was fun. Some of my family and I were going to go to the burbot bash they have at flaming gorge ever year, but it got canceled do to the ice melting faster then normal. We didn't get very much snow last year we did have a month of negative temps though. So I'm hoping this year it stays cold enough that they can do the burbot bash.

I also like reel fishing and river fishing when it's warmer out. If any of you ever come to utah or live in utah Matt Warner is a really good place to fish. You can plan on catching fish there and the smallest one I've ever seen come out of there was 11" most between 18"-26". Different kinds of trout including tiger trout are in there and cat fish I'm not sure what other fish are in there.

Red fleet is fun, but not good for fishing those fish don't like to bite. It hasn't stopped me from fishing there though.

thats fair, 3 is a little young for sub-zero temps. what do you guys catch mostly in your area?

Our favorite is largemouth bass, but we also like to try and catch catfish, bluegill, walleye, wipers, stripers, and probably some more I can't think of off the top of my head.

Ice fishing is a blast. My buddy has a killer fish house that sleeps 5, stove/oven, bathroom, sat tv, and about 7-8 holes to use. We sit and watch football at 70F in our t-shirts. The beer goes in the cooler outside to keep it from freeezing too fast.

As for fish.....Walleye is the main target, but there really isn't anything better than a 30" Northern Pike with a mouth full-o-teeth coming up through a 10" hole in the ice. Pretty fun.

Your right that is a killer fish house. I don't have an ice fishing anything at the moment when I went we had a ice fishing tent, and a propane heater which wasn't kept on much we put mats down on the ice to help keep are toes from freezing off. If I had a fish house like your buddy's I would ice fish all winter.

I do all types of fishing . And here on Long Island there are all types. Salt....... Stripers, blues, fluke and flounder, black fish, shark, weakfish and a host of others . Fresh...... Largemouth , some smallmouth and walleye, trout, and panfish, or head upstate north and west for northern and tiger muskies. Love , love, love fishing . Just wish I had more time to do it . Nothing like the striper runs out in Montauk in the spring and fall !!!
A bad day of hunting or fishing is better than a good day at work !
