She's fixable though, don't give her up just cause of a little damage. She could look good as new with just a little work like Joe said. No one will even notice.

Some insurance companies will charge more, or even DENY you if you try to file a claim while using your POV. Our county has an SOP because of an incident like this. No more POVs to scene unless its a life or death situation. And even if it were allowed, I would not take my truck. Last week we had a down limb on a power line. Our little brush truck was gone so I was going to take my F-150 and sit on it, but I decided to take our MASSIVE tanker instead. I ended up taking out a mailbox and fence with the thing, but at least I didnt do it with my truck.

You've got to be kidding me. When I read the OP, I was expecting a MANGLED bed. I've been rear-ended by a Civic doing 45 mph and it only caused 1500 in damage, and that included a frame straitening. I would get a quote on that, and pay the deductible.

Yeah, the previous owner of my truck got rear ended, my truck has a new bumper, tailgate, and the bar on the frame that goes across the back needed fixing, so frame damage. But you could never tell, I wouldn't have even known about it if I wasn't told, everything looks like it should, frame and all. Keep her and fix her back up.

Then why isnt the department paying for it? I know a guy from MI that if you picked up the radio and called enroute POV, the dept would pay your deductible if you got in an accident or fender bender.
