To relieve the pressure, there is a Schraeder valve located on the fuel rail in the engine bay. But even then, the low pressure of the fuel lines won't spray, just drop a couple cups of fuel on you.

When I did mine i didnt mess with the Schrader valve. The line never sprayed, just dropped all over me.
Don't feel bad, same thing happened to me. I was smart enough to wear safety glasses, however. I'm blind in one eye so I don't need to lose the other one!

Well, I burned out my eyes when I first took it off, it sprayed right in them lol. I wasn't smart enough to think of safety glasses beforehand haha.
