That's actually false. Seen too many test on the real road and you actually get better mileage with it up because a vortex is created that the other air just goes over. But the tonneau cover eliminates all of that nonsense lol.

Hmmm makes sense. Googled it though and there seems to be some debate on the issue still.

Oh there r plenty of debates. Myth busters did a good one. But yes gate down is actually worse for your truck in two ways. If u leave it down all the time your Seidel bed walls will also get flimsy

Myth Busters isn't exactly scientific with two different drivers and two trucks even if those trucks are supposedly identical though.

Well if my memory is correct. It was the same truck. Same driver. Not that it matters lol. But anyways. They don't do a bad job

Let me straighten this out: Mythbusters used the same vehicle and checked the mileage gate up and gate down and explained very articulately why the gate should be left up. This is one of my favorite shows because they use the scientific method correctly. On occasion when people write in challenging the methodology the will re-do the experiment. Don't talk about my Mom either!

The article I read about it said two drivers, two trucks, gate as the variable.

I don't actually watch the show so I can only go by what I read.

I'll shut up about it though.

The Professor put a link on here somewhere about this issue. It proved tailgate up is more efficient. Idk if I'll be able to find it though cause it was like a year ago and Idk what thread lol.
