    2004 F-150 5.4L clylinders 5,6,7,8 misfire 140K

My Dad's '04 F-150 wouldn't crank for my Mom while running errands and when I finally got it cranked it ran very rough with little power. I drove it about 1/4 mile to their house and the check engine light was blinking and it stalled. I pulled the codes and they were as follows: misfire, cyl 5,6,7,8 misfire, misfire within the first 1000rpm. What would cause the left bank to misfire all at the same time? I guess I'm wanting to know what they have in common that is separate from the right bank?

Could b a few things. Maybe they got wet on that side from cleaning? They don't like water at all. And. Worst case could b a head gasket and they r taking moisture from it. They r really picky I do know that

^X2 what Joe said. Water on one side makes sense. Does it rain heavily where you are, or did he clean his engine or anything? And correct me if I'm wrong, but cylinders 5, 6, 7, and 8 would be the right bank (facing the engine from the front of the truck, i.e. the driver's side) just inputting before you start removing stuff on the wrong side.

My mistake it is the right side if you're facing the engine. We had no rain that day and she had driven to two other stops before the problem started. So, if it is a moisture problem, the moisture is coming from the engine. I'll check that. Thanks guys.

Sounds like the chain tensioner failed and the cam skipped time.... or the chain itself failed
