I have a 2000 f150 and the pats antenna is broken I want to take one out of another truck and put it in mine but I want to know if that would work or if its just a pipe dream

I'm not sure what a pats antenna is. Is it the one on the roof?

Its around the ignition cluster where you put the key its connected to a transceiver under the steering wheel its how the anti theft system works (passive anti theft system) I think it should work because basically its just a coil of wire with a 3 prong conector

It should work if it's coming from the same model year I would assume. It's just a replacement part so I don't see why not.
