baja truck

I have been thinkin about buildin a baja truck like for the baja 1000 type **** I bought a 97 single cab. Does anyone have any ideas on what motor what trans drive train and stuff ...thinkin about a lightning motor but idk could get pricey

Well it's not going to be cheap to build one of those with everything you have to modify lol. And you want the most power with the least amount of weight. A Lightning motor might be good, but that's more for street racing. I'm sure it'll work fine in the dirt/sand though lol. How much are you looking to spend?

Idk what ever it takes I was thinking I might just build a 5.4 from a fresh block but will a light r100 trans bolt up ...im worried about indurance ya know I think a good fresh build will last but idk much about trans so I was just gonna slap a tuff ass trans to it and hope for the best

Go to spike tv.com, the extreme 4by4 built a raptor from a 97 f150 used the 5.4 supercharged motor, rebuilt axels and all kinds of goodies
