I have changed the oil and have made the transition to full synthetic. I switch to synthetic properly by going from conventional to semi synthetic to full synthetic. I am going to be getting my spark plugs from AutoZone. I can't afford the high-dollar spark plugs. what do you suggest for like a mid-grade Spark plug?
Motorcraft bud. Always

There not that bad. Ngk makes motorcraft. You can get away with those also. But there the same price. Motorcraft all the way. You'll notice the difference

Oh I wasn't aware ngk was motoceaft

I have read up on the difficulty level and how to change them. But I would like to know from you about how long it should take and problems that might arise..... well know issues anyways.
To change them?? Worst plug job I ever did took me two hrs. 04 lightning. #4 was a nightmare.
Now. I'm not trying to break your stones. I'm simply trying to make u aware. That all of the answers you seek. And have asked me. Are in a Haynes manual. Yeah. It's 20$ and you think u don't need one. But if you purchase a vehicle and plan to do all your own wrenching? Get one. Just sayin. You seem eager for knowledge. Stick your face in that book. You'll learn a lot. My $0.02

I'm not positive how long they have. But they make them now. And have for a few years. But I can't tell u how far back they have made them. Not without googling or researching

the 5.4 hates anything other then motorcraft plugs I've heard.. Better to do it once with the recommended thing then have to do it again. Also same with coils. I used tasca parts.. Almost 17,000 miles and not a problem.. Torque them to 28-32 pound feet. If not you will risk them blowing out of the motor
Tune up as stated. Clean your throttle body, change the fuel filter, check and change the air filter if needed. Run some fuel system cleaner through it too. Can't hurt to clean up the fuel system and injectors. Especially if you don't know how the PO maintained it.

Lucky for you, the 2002 was still the 2-Valve version of the 5.4L. The 3V version is the worst for spark plug changes, they even have their own special tool in case they break off in the cylinder head.
But your truck won't have that issue. The only issue is accessibility. Ford crammed these engines in these trucks and buried them under everything. It will take a few hours and some patience. Number 4 and number 8 cylinders will be the worst since they're basically under the firewall almost (my '05 was at least). Make sure you have plenty of extensions and u-joints handy to make it easier on yourself. Use anti-seize lube on the threads and put some dielectric grease on the COP connector and the spark plug end. And carefully and lightly start screwing in the plugs by hand or you risk stripping the aluminum head threads.
O2 sensors measure oxygen levels in the exhaust stream. The engine's power control module uses this information to adjust and maintain the proper air-to-fuel ratio.
Faulty or warn sensors send poor or irrational signals to the PCM, resulting in a less than ideal air-to-fuel ratio.
This is associated with poor performance, throttle response, and fuel economy.
Black Chrome is bagged, blown and a pleasure to own.
Q: Do you use Anti-Seize when you install new spark plugs?
A: No, we always use Motorcraft nickel plated spark plugs to stop any issues with electrolysis.
Q: Have the threads in the newer engines been upgraded?
A: Yes. most all 1997 to 2003 4.6L, 5.4L, 6.8L engines used the 4-5 thread design cylinder head.
In late 2003 the SOHC 2 valve type engines were upgraded to a 8-10 thread spark plug design.
