Who would drive a 2003 F-150 with 105,000 miles on it 550 miles away for vacation?

my brother and i's 2003 King Ranch has 261,800 miles on it. I wouldn't hesitate to take it to Florida. ( well.. If it didn't have any oil leaks that is ) Check the tires for dry rot check the oil ( change if needed ) check the transmission fluid ( should be red almost pink And should be driven about 20 miles then parked on a level surface. And run the selector from park to 1 and back waiting about 2 seconds between gear changes. Then when in park while running check the fluid. ) then when the truck has sat for 7 or 8 hours and level. Check the rear differential fluid ( change if needed. And since you have an FX4 you will need some friction modifier from ford ) check all of the lights and check the coolant. ( should be lime green almost ) if not I would flush it.

Bud if this is your commuting vehicle 550 miles of commute is harder than the vacation travel. Take it to a good maintenance shop and leave it with them and tell them to look things over and change the oil. Just don't give them the idea your worried about not making it. That opens a gate to take your money.....
