I'd dump that sh*t out ASAP and put orange in as called for. Dunno what for pink stuff is in there right now.
Thanks for the link bud. Didn't find anything definitive in there though. I googled some more and found a few posts that say the motorcraft Orange turns pink over time , but can't verify the validity of the info. All right now guys, ........ Who wants to look in the reservoir of a 2011 or newer 5.0 1 fiddy with the original coolant and let me know if theirs turned a light pink ? I just twisted up a white paper towel and dipped it in to check.

Anybody here work at ford and can verify this till I get into my local dealer? Coolant shouldn't be this fn difficult , Lol !

My original post was just a statement that it's probably just pink with age, but then I found that link. It didn't mention anything about changing colors or hues, as far as I caught anyway.

So yeah that's why I'd just say screwit and change it all out. Doesn't take long and it's not THAT expensive. Peace of mind would make it worthwhile, IMHO.

Type coolant into the search bar on the regular desktop site. Should pop-up. But your manual already told you what coolant to use so do what Don said and change it out. Pretty easy to do and it will ensure you're using the right coolant.

Just as long as its not a normal routine to do so. If it was me and I saw discoloration and it was low, I'd just change it. Idk what the interval is on the 5.0 but I know for my year it was supposed to be 30K for coolant although I don't think many people do that.

So it's 5 years overdue. Probably why it's pink then.

    Wait. DWC's is a 2011.

But my truck and ryan's are 2005 F150's and there is no coolant service or change interval at 30k as ryan said.

Was correcting myself on saying it's overdue since your service interval says 5 years. Yours being a 2005 threw me off. His is a 2011 so it hasn't been 5 years yet, let alone 5 years past that point ie 10 years (5+5).

You are correct, I mixed it up with the transmission fluid change interval. My mistake and good catch Drew. Mixed them up because I changed them both at the same time (coolant was 8 years old when I did) and around 60K miles. That's why that 30K interval stuck I guess.
