    Well 3/4 inches is 19.05 mm so it'd actually be looser according to Google.

    I don't think an 18 would be big enough. The 3/4 wasn't THAT loose.

    Corrosion. No matter what chemicals or properties of anti-corrosion the coolant has, it inevitably builds up in the coolant system. Don't want it to build up and clog. Drain and refill alone won't clear it out, so flushing is a little more thorough. You can do it yourself as well but all the videos I've seen say use a garden hose...the water in there has so many minerals that it would just cause corrosion by introducing it to your coolant system. That's why I'd rather pay to have Ford do it. Besides if they eff up my coolant system, they pay for it lol.

    Knowing Ford dealers they probably just use a fat garden hose with a Motorcraft nozzle on the end.
