    long term truck

    Evening, first time poster.
    I have an 02 4.2L v6 5speed supercab.
    275000 miles.

    Had engine serviced last year no problems to speak of.

    But what are some components i should look at swapping out due to time. i.e. ( starter,alternator thimgs like that.

    Reliability is number one for my money. The 95 has over 300k miles. I went for the 5.0, but got hit head on and totaled. I kind of got stuck with the 3.7 because there weren't many around with an 8' box and a regular cab. Enough crying--I think Ford has great OEM parts, so all the things you asked about should be non-issues.

    Welcome to the forum!! As for maintenance there is a long list lol. Spark plugs if they haven't been changed in awhile. Fuel filter, air filter, PCV valve, coolant flush, transmission flush, the list keeps going. Other than those though I'd only replace what's going bad or what's broken.

    Ryan has the nail on the head. My 4.2L has 433,000 miles and I drive it every day.

    what about power steering flush? That would probably need done.. Well unless it's new fluid / pump
