    Is this offensive

If I put a American flag as my headline like a real american flag and put it up would that be considered offensive ... I had a guy tell me it would be I didn't think so but I wanna get some ideas ?

I know that using a real American flag as clothing and such is offensive. Using it as headliner would kinda be like displaying the flag...I wouldnt have a problem with it.. that's just my opinion.

Although it might look bad ass, if you used an actual American flag and glued or stapled it or cut it or ripped it......then yes that would be disrespectful. If it wasn't an actual flag and maybe a bed sheet that was dyed or printed to resemble our flag then that would be fine.
Sorry for the bad news brother. I am sure the other ex-military guys would agree.
You might want to take it down and dispose of it properly as you would an old or tattered flag.

I agree, it would be disrespectful to use an actual American flag. However, I have seen some American Flag material that could probably work. Try the local upholstery shops and see what they have, or find a quilt shop lol.

I don't have it up I haven't done it .. My grandpa was in the navy and is retired now and he said he I did it and used a flag I would need to find a way to do it without damaging or ripping or anything to the flag , I have screws that hold in my headliner and I was going to role the edges so I didn't screw into the flag I wasn't going to glue it up but pull it tight enought on all sides that I wouldn't really need glue

No problem man I'm not pissed. I just know some people would really not like it if the flag was all damaged. I think your gramps is on the right track, if you can do it without any damage then go for it.

I think people can be too uptight. I served in the Marines and I get that if the flag touches the ground you are supposed to burn it. For me, if you are using a real flag and making a headliner and you are showing your pride in America or your patriotism, then that is what it means.

But it's not proper flag etiquette
No offense but it's cut and dried
With that being said.....I wouldn't give a crap if he used a real flag lol

To b quite honest. I could really care I like some other brothers in this forum. Have served this great nation. I know I have a lot. I don't really think that any way of displaying the flag is bad. I do however get offended when they r on the ground. Till your out of rounds or u can't breath anymore. Our flag does not hit the GROUND! Display it. Honor it. Fly it anyway u can. Pay homage to the men and women who fought for us to b able to display our flag Fly it for them. Anyway u can. U do the best u can to take care of it also. Oh. And don't put it on an import either. I say it almost everyday when I see it. Take my flag off your import! Just my rant y'all. But hang it. Fly it. And salute it
