Well I got her pulled tonight with the help of the neighbors, lol. Don't have any pictures for now, but I think my Mom took a few as we were lifting it out with the forklift. Now to clean up the rest of my mess in the shop tomorrow, and start cleaning parts to put back on it!

Now is when I really hope I can remember how to put everything back together RIGHT!

Yeah, I've got the service manual if I need any help on it. Kind of had a scare while pulling the motor last night......I didn't get the transmission dipstick bolt pulled out of the motor, so the tube pulled out of the tranny. Aaaaaand the tranny was overfull so for a minute we didn't know where all the tranny fluid was coming from or what we'd messed up! All good though!

Good work. I hope she fired tomorrow for ya. I just fired my dirt bike after a remike and a new cylinder. It's in the air my friend. Fire it up! Good luck
Well I got a decent amount done on her today, mostly cleanup of components, and then pulling everything off the old block. I realized as I was about to put the valve covers on, that I need new VCT solenoids, so there's another $300 :/ and they can't get them until Monday mid day, so I will hopefully be dropping the new motor in on Monday night now. Those solenoids are going to put me right at 4700 that I've spent on this thing, this isn't cheap.....but I'm going to have a damn good truck when I get done!
Can't really complain about the hold up on parts either, it's been going smooth as can be so far, and I have to expect at least one hold up! It'll give me more time to get stuff ready and cleaned too, before I start putting her back together......ohm and more time for homework, lol, I'm still doing college.

By the way, for anyone interested, here is a list of parts I'm replacing as I do this:
Long Block (block and heads) 5.4L reman (obviously!)
Water pump
Fan Clutch
Thermostat
Radiator
C02 sensors (2 each side)
VCT Solenoids
Cam Sensors
And the obvious oil, antifreeze, power steering fluid, gaskets, etc. I'll also probably do a tranny flush right after I turn the key on the truck.

Get another 6-1/2 quarts and make sure you change your oil again in 1000 miles
