    Electrical problems?

    I have a 2005 F150 King Ranch and started to electrical problems for the first time. My parking brake and ABS warning lights came on, my cruise control stopped working, my reverse lights don't work, doors won't lock after u start driving. Fuses, light bulbs and fluid levels are good. Can anyone help me pls thanks.

    id start checking ground straps. did you check the fuses in the engine bay? where do you keep your truck? mice could have ate at the wiring harness or something.

    I had the truck scanned and the code were p1703 brake switch circuit out of self-test range, p1550 power steering pressure sensor/switch circuit malfunction, and p1780 transmission control switch out of self-test range. Amd they gave paper stating that there were no reported potential fixes. Im lost in this sauce and I dont have schematics. Any suggestions?

    I'm assuming you took this to an automotive shop versus a Ford dealer? I'm guessing so since the guy ran the code reader incorrectly (yes there is a way to do it wrong).

    Those are the big three during a scan fault. If you donīt run the selftest correct, you get a P1780 code. During the KOER (Key on, engine running) portion of an EEC test, you need to actuate certain inputs, usually the BOO, TCS, and PSP switches to verify that an output is being sent by those respective circuits. Decoded, those are Brake On/Off switch (which if not done will trigger P1703), Trans Control Switch (will trigger P1780) and PSP is power steering pressure, which trill trip P1550.

    To eliminate these, you need to follow the official instructions from the WDS when the test is in progress which is something like cycle TCC switch on/off, depress brake pedal and release, turn steering wheel 1/4 turn in either direction and release.

    So I'd take it to Ford for them to do a PROPER code reading. The only downsize is that it will run you an $80 diagnostic fee.
