It really sounds like a coil pack. But u can't rule out an injector. It happins. Run some fuel treatment through it along with a tank full of good gas and see where u stand

    Good luck

Its a "cure-all" (aka: snake oil) that cures all your trucks problems (sarcasm). Its nothing but an naptha/alcohol type of detergent that is good for cleaning up carbon deposits, but people also put it in their vac lines, brake boosters, gas tanks, oil, etc thinking it will solve problems. I ran it once to clean out my upper intake manifold and it burned out my Bank 1 catalytic converter. Costs me $350 to replace it. I am a firm believer that the only thing an engine should have running through it is fuel, oil, and air.

OP, I replied to your PM. Its definately an ignition problem, coupled to that P-code. I'd check the spark plugs first and their gap, but its most likely the COPs (I don't think the 5.4Ls have coil packs, do they?) I'm not a V8 guy.

You generally wont. I had bad spark plugs and I got a misfire every other second, my truck was skipping and hopping like it was about to puke. Do a search for your P-code. They are generally a wide-problem code, but I can tell you that it is an igntion problem, whether it be wires, plugs, etc.

Dude I can rebuild a 4.2L blindfolded but all I know about V8s is they have two more cylinders than me. lol

    Yeah its clear.

I would check the spark plugs I had the exact same problem and no codes at all. I replaced the plugs and wires and it completely fixed the problem. Have fun with those plugs though.
