Got a red 1994 F150. The guy who I got it from didn't really take care of it so the paint is kinda faded. Is there any way I can restore it a little bit? I'm not talking showroom shiny. But I'd like it to look a bit more presentable. Ideas?

Meguiars has a paint restoration kit out with a lot of good products in the box. If I remember correctly it was like $30-$35 and came with stuff to clay bar, the ultimate compound to get rid of swirls, and a microfiber to wipe it all down.

A clay bar will do wonders.

If its just a build up of crud over time and you don't have fine scratches to take out--a real cheap and easy fix is Surf City Garage's Beyond Clay--can get at Walmart. My 89 Ranger was very dull--used this on it once and it shines bright. This product will fill in small scratches but come out of the scratches after a few rains/washes, but the paint will stay nice and shiny on and on. The transformation from crud build up dullness to shine is absolutely amazing : )

My 93 F-150 was that well known red when I got it . You know the red i'm talking about. it was dual and faded as all get out . I spent the better part of a day using that cheap cleaner wax called Nu Finish . You can get it at most discount and auto parts stores about 5 bucks a bottle if that . When I was done it looked like a paint job . I took it to work the next day and they thought I painted it over the weekend
Use a compound wax , turtle wax is an inexpensive brand . Will do you a fabulous job !! Real good to give a good polishing! Look good!

Agreed, Turtle Wax cleaner wax with Carnauba wax will work wonders for that.
That unit needs a buffer and some cutting compound before the wax will do much good, but she could shine again with the right amount of effort.
