5.0 has great power and fuel mileage

I toyed with the ecoboost engine, but no local ford dealer had a package I liked, so I went with the 5.0 and have no regrets. I purchased a 2011 4X4 Super crew King Ranch with the center console. I fell in love with the package, It has everything I wanted and WWWAAAYYY more. Since the dealer had it on the lot, I was able to get an awesome deal at the end of the month. Driving empty down the fwy, I get 21-22 mpg cruising 70-75, and its not broken in yet, only 6,800 miles.

Very nice! I'm hearing similar reports. The average for that engine seems to be 17/20, with EcoBoost barely pulling off a two point lead of 19/23. I'd prefer the EB though, that flat torque line looks sexy.

I found a heck of a deal on a 4x4 king ranch super crew with a 5.0. I started looking for an Eco boost, but they drive very similar, and the only trailer I tow weight 4k, so no issues there. Because the dealer had the truck on the lot, and it was near the end of the month, I saved well over 10k over ordering the same truck. It has more than I was looking for, but it still cost way less than if I could have found the XLT eco boost I was looking for. Theres a much larger selection now, but in April, it was the best I could find.

I like my 2011 fx4 with the 5.0 and the mpgs it gets. The only bad thing is the gas prices that we pay here in Alaska.

Yeah, if I had $44,000 laying around, I would get my dream F150 with the 5.0L.

Yeah, it's the same here, the Ecoboost has more HP and torque, but I'm a V8 guy and would get the 5.0L.

I love the V8 mentality these days.
