I agree the K&N ruined the gas millage in my truck. Removed it and got 5 more mpg. Do know why .

Lol. In resent months my thoughts on k&n have gone down considerably. If ur poppin one or two in for a "race" night. I think there great. There also expensive to do that. Lol.

Try this. It's an s & b. It's a little larger than stock. And also doesn't make that god awful suck noise. And guess what else? U cant hear it in the cab!!! It's about the same as the competition. It works. And will give u a 2-3 mpg increase "if" u drive it accordingly. Easy right foot. Better milage. But who does that?!? lol. It works. Ive seen it. Researched it. And have seen it on a dyno. There are plenty of videos online. Hope that helps u.

I also think they come with too much oil. If u read the restore instructions. It states to not over spray. The last 3 I've purchased were dripping slightly. And made a stain on the box. I think it blocks air. That's my opinion only. Hope I answered ur question

I like mine but.. I don't really need it. I've figured that out since I've gotten one. Not sure if I should get paper ones and waist the K&N since it was $50
