    Many intakes cause the trucks onboard computer to overcompensate and run towards the lean end of the spectrum without being returned. K&N tends to run slightly lean. Not as bad as most but without a tune can kill some mileage.

    Exactly why intakes are pointless without either a custom tune or forced induction. These trucks come with "Cold" air intakes as they suck fresh air from the fender wall rather than the engine compartment which is what you get with a lot of "cold air intakes" with the open air boxes. Kinda defeats the purpose.

    Better mpg is not the purpose of aftermarket intakes.

    OEM tuning will not work with aftermarket forced induction.
