    Gas smell in cab after plugs

    What does anyone think

    What year truck/ motor? People have had this issue after changing plugs in their 04+ 5.4's because the plugs werent torqued to the right spec. 28 foot pounds is what they need to be torqued to.

    I just did mine, torqued to 25-28 and I didn't have any problem.

    2008 5.4l the shop I took it to didn't torque and now it smells and I had it scaned 16 misfire he wants to change all. The plugs again

    Not torque right could be the problem.....although 25-28 is hardly any at all so I would think that they would've gotten em good.......maybe try taking it to another shop and seeing what they say. There's always the possibility of the shop not telling the real problem?

    Well it was the plugs. 3 backed out. Still ok they say. All new plugs and torqued at 26 again.

    Huh, that's odd.....or they just said that and didn't do them right.....hope that fixes it for ya!
