    Squeaking

I have had some annouying squeaking sounds coming from my v8 5.4 motor. My dad said it's not a belt but a pulley. What should I do?

It might be the belt tensioner pulley. It happened to me. It ended up locking up on me. And also the alternator could be making the noise as well.

Is it cold out wen this happens? It could just be cold belts or cold alternator. Or does it happen all the time mo matter the outside temp or engine temp?

Mine does the same thing....only when I first start it up....I did put belt dressing on it and that seemed to help some...I think
