I just did it to my truck today, and I spent about $3 on it. They say that it makes a pretty big difference, 2" is what is on it stock, and this takes it up to a 3" inlet.

is the gotts mod relatively the same on a 4.6?
I believe it is for ours even though our intake is a little different. If I'm correct, the tube that connects to the fender wall goes from a 2" diameter from where it connects to the fender wall to a 3" diameter where it connects with the air filter housing. I think there's a write up on that same site for the 4.6L, just have to find it.
You have to search that site to find more pics, theres a few write ups for it. What do you want to do though, modify your current intake, or get a whole new intake system?
modify the one you have. Search f150online.com for the "Gotts Mod"

Yeah you want to get a programmer before you do an intake mod on the 5.4s- you will run the engine excessively lean
