    Small "tick"

    I have a 2004 5.4 with the small tick what should I do first I'm hoping it is the cam issue any help guys thanks

    Sounds like the infamous valve tap. It's common. No worries. Just make sure your oil is at the fill line on your dipstick and change your oil normally Quite common in your motor

    Either valve tick or cam phaser.. Typical issue...

    Just keep up on Maintenance like joe said.. And use quality 5w20 oil

    Thanks guys I change the oil @every 3k miles on all my vehicles the ford dealer says its injectors but idk if that's just them trying to get out of having to do a costly repair

    Injector sticking can cause that sound.. Have seen it before.

    Modular engines have loud injector tick. Mine has a loud tick at idle when it is cold.

    Can you put after market injectors in to make it sound quiter

    Aww the modular ticking well check all the info you can and get ready to spend most likely cam phasers or low oil psi at idle the list is long with these motors lots of poor engineering
    Not to be to negative but these pos are costing people lots of money good luck

    You're very negative about one incident. Buy an extended warranty and save yourself some money. Besides, if you keep up on scheduled maintenance and run the proper oil you can avoid many of the "poor engineering" or "common" problems.
