Oil Change Number 2 @1800 miles on new 5.0

Valvoline 5W-30 Synpower... and motorcraft FL-1A filter.

think it's gonna be a good combo and will probably quiet down the entire valve train.. Typical roller rocker noise.

plus i work for valvoline instant oil change so I've researched the stuff now through my classes for work..

bought it all at o'reilly's... 37.24 was my total after tax...

First oil change was at 500 miles.. Rings were fully seated around 350 miles or so

Break in is beating the snot out of it.. And it's fully broken in now anyways

Never have I or many engine builders I know had issues.. Many build an engine and hit it with nitrous or boost within the first 5 miles.. I've seen it done.. Or custom engine builders build one, throw it on the dyno and run it to see dyno numbers.. No break-in..

An what do you mean owners manual? This is a custom built engine..

Yes but u didn't state that in your post

Well? What ya got? I did the break in too before the Dyno. Didn't beat it at all. Was so hard not lol. But finally hit the Dyno with a cool 522 hp at the crank. Break ins r key. U hit the machine yet? Got an hp?

I haven't hit the dyno yet but it should be a tad over 300 at the wheels and around 420ish at the crank..

This is always an argument on break-ins that I hate.. 2 completely different styles.. Neither are wrong..

And even a stock build I would treat the same..

I agree. I get the same mixed reviews But sometimes all the time and money put down. U wanna see results so some cats just throw it in and hit it ya know? I feel ya. I broke mine in first. Sounds like u got some power. Lol. Don't u just love that?

I agree that you should break it in exactly how you intend to drive it, I just have a varying opinion about how quick you are changing the oil. Just my $.02

cant hurt anything by changing the oil that quick..

most reman places that i've talked too want you to change the oil after 50 miles and again at 500..

i prefer 500 then 1500 then normal intervals from there on out..
