My 1984 will not stay at an idle at all especially when I put it in neutral to come to a stop and I don't know what's wrong anymore I changed the brake booster and put new gaskets on my carburetor.

Have u tried to adjust the carb at all?
The problem is that it is carbureted. Switch to fuel injection. I've ALWAYS had problems with carbureted engines.

Sounds like a vaccum leak check with some carb cleaner around all hoses gaskets on intake and check the pcv valve( clean or replace) ? Let us no

I think it depends on the person, my uncle and cousin can take any carbureted engine and make em purr like a kitten, guess it's all on what you know
Yes, but at some point they will stall on you lol. Not with fuel injection unless you have a problem.
Have you messed with the timing at all

I've put a new brake booster and gaskets on my carburetor but haven't checked the hose. And I'm going to borrow my friends timing light this weekend and see where that puts me
