LOL what? Did you even do any homework before posting? I'd like to know how a Duratec 35-series engine (which has been out for well over 10 years) is more complex than a brand new, variable valve timing V8?

I'm confused by this. Pretty sure this thread is about the EcoBoost which makes more power and has better mileage than the 5.0.

I may be new to this forum, but am a seasoned vet on many others and have never seen a user post without at least checking which part of the forum they're in

It depends on the drive in town when my drive to/from work was mostly 40 mph my avg was closer to 19-20, but when I moved and now my drive of basically the same distance is all 30 mph I lost a couple mpgs.

Seems like 45 is the sweet spot for my setup I can get over 35 on a 45mph trip across town. Jump up to 55 on the old highway to visit my mom and that changes to about 27. Go 75 on longer trips and it's more like 21-22.

Guess it all depends on gearing and what rpm is the "sweet spot" for the motor.

but after how many miles? we had a guy with a 4.6L Screw 4x4 trying to tell us he gets 27mpg highway. turns out he only drove 50 miles when he made the claim. when I say AVERAGE I mean for the whole damned tank. Lie-O-Meters get their name for a reason. mine says 21-22 highway, but they dont account for lower BTUs with E10. I get 19 highway
