Towing a 16ft cargo trailer ... WTF... 7.5 mpg at 70mph
Well...gas engines only run at 25% efficiency compared to diesel engines that run at 50%. So gas engines, once you tow the mpg goes to s***. Idk how much weight you are towing but 7.7mpg isn't that bad while towing considering some V8 gassers would get down to 5 or so. You can't have a bunch of extra weight and expect to get 15mpg still lol. You're getting better mpg with your Ecoboost, but it's still gunna be low while towing. If you tow a lot and want better mpg, get a Superduty with a diesel, it'll be way more efficient and cheaper in the long run.

And plus you're going 70mph with a trailer, go 60 or 65 and it'll increase.
Internal combustion engines are like a bell curve. They peak at 60. After 62mph, engine efficiency drops like a rock. At 70mph, you are dumping ridiculous amounts of fuel into the engine. Slow it down, Mario. Even then, you're towing a trailer with a turbocharged engine in BOOST. Which literally means the engine is DUMPING fuel. I'm not kidding when I say you could literally watch your gas level go down when in boost long enough.

Just bought a 2013 F150 ecoboost v6 to pull our 28 ft camper. we got around 7mpg. Considering the weight around 10k, wasn't bad. Just happy the F150 pulled it with no problem!
As long as you keep it in a dry climate so the turbos don't build up condensation in the inter cooler, you shouldn't have any problems with towing with that engine. Glad you are satisfied with it.
Yes my right foot is full if led lol, it was a trailer packed full so it was heavy as ****!! I am rather impressed with how easily it pulled it though .... And not to mention I was told that my tires are throwing off my mpg read out so I was actually getting 8+ mpg ..... Still love the truck and motor no matter what mpg I was getting lol ....
Hells yeah! Lol. I pull my car on my car trailer with no prob. It's a ford. Nothing to worry about
