Taller sidewall generally equates to a softer ride, but it is mainly manufacturer dependent.

Yes, generally. But when you get into 33" and up, the taller sidewalls start to roll and can cause drivability issues. This is why a lot of people who go with 35s or bigger opt to go with a 20" rim. Its a little rougher, but eliminates the floating and wandering at highway speeds.

On my las truck I went with a thicker side wall. An E load range. 10 ply tire. That straightened all that out for me

    ----------

It was more money of course. But... It would go over anything and go anywhere

You can google a tire calculator and get the circumference of any tire. Another quick calc will tell you the amount of change on the speedo.

So I'm going with a 255/70R18 because it's a 32 like I can fit. My question is what offset do I need? The online shop in looking at asks if I'm looking for a high or low offset. Which am I looking for?
