    Cam Phaser issue?

I have an 05 XLT Supercrew and engine started sounded like a diesel. I've been told I need to have the cam phaser replaced. Anyone else experience this?

yup! my old 04 got the sound so I sold it. You just need to have it professionally checked out, but more than likely you have the issue

Had the same issue on my 08/5.4 when you came to an idol , sounded like a diesel. I took it to a ford garage, yes the cam phasers where restricted from lack of oil which that means your whole top end of your engine is starving for oil, your engine will show good oil pressure but that's cuz you're reading comes from the bottom end. Thankfully I still had warranty, which ford put a new crate engine in it.

I had the same issue and talke with s_varres who started that thread and he walked me through the entire process...you will see I have posted in that thread...he is right and it works. Not hard but takes time! It's the tentioners that initially cause the problem 90% of the time. Check it out.
