My 2005 Lariat- From the beginning.

Ok, I figured I would gather a few pics to show the evolution of my truck since I got it.

I purchased the truck in May of 2009 from a salvage yard about 50 miles out of town, I found it on craigslist by accident and fell in love with it. Now I dont by my trucks like most do, I buy them wrecked so its a little bit different process but also very similar. My father owns a collision repair shop so all the work is either done by a professional (him) or done by a rookie (me) being supervised by a professional. (him) The truck had been in a roll over accident and totaled, it had 49K on it and I picked it up for $5500 out the door.

Here is the original ad I found for it.

The next set of pics starts from the salvage lot where I test drove it (it was drive-able) bought it and then drove it back to town where we began the rebuild.

    The tear down

The bending and fixing. (these posted out of order for some reason)

The finished product, 6 months later.

    Some randoms.

    How she sits now.

Just rolled over to 90K yesterday and she's been a great truck and she's tough as nails. She endured another accident last February and took it like a champ, busted some plastic she came back for more, once again. Love this truck!

I turned wrenches, did the disassembly and reasembly, drilled out spot welds and stripped paint. I did a little body work but that is just mot my forte, I let the pro handle that.

Thanks man. My father has been doing this for almost 40 years now and even though I grew up around it I still cant look at things like this and say "****, I thought you said it was wrecked?" like he does. lol
