100,000 mile maintenance
I drive a company vehicle, 2013 F150 with Ecoboost V-6. Had the truck since 30k miles and no service/repair work has been done since we've had it other than oil changes, air filter and tires/brakes. Truck still runs great but has developed an occasional (sporadic) slightly rough idle when you come to a stop. After idling 30-40 seconds it smooths out. I'm sure it needs spark plugs, probably fuel filter and I'm guessing transmission service. No owners manual in truck so I can't easily see what FoMoCo's maintenance suggestions are. I hate just pulling up to the dealership and being subjected to a service writer's "sales pitch". I'm looking for the "absolutely need to do" suggestions as well as the "don't fall for that crap" things to look out for. Thanks in advance for any help!

Minimum plugs , boots and coils. At that mileage it may also being starting to have problems with cam chain tensioner,cam advance sprocket and variable cam timing solenoids or VCTs.

One more thing to add...about 20,000 miles ago a complete brake job (all four rotors w/pads replaced) was done. Original pads were very low and there was a definite pedal pulsation. Within the past 5,000 miles the pedal pulsation has returned. There is still plenty of material left on the pads. In years past, with passenger cars, I have pulled the rotors and had them resurfaced. Assuming the shop, that performed the brake job, used genuine Ford replacement rotors, are these rotors capable of being resurfaced? Thanks!

Thanks anaheim_drew. According to Ford, the fuel filter is "lifetime" and engine coolant and spark plugs are the only things replaced at 100k. ATF and filter, rear diff oil and accy. drive belt are good to 150k.
Thanks Donpauli2, I was not aware of the cam and timing components. I will search this site for more info on them.

I wouldn't believe the dealer on lifetime on fuel filter. They get clogged in time, and are a replaceable item. The transmission has a long life fluid that Ford claims can go 150k plus. Again due to dirt, wearing parts, service it at 100k. I normally participate at the Expedition website. Most of our members service their 6 speeds at 70-100k. The short dipstick is a pain on the 6r80 tranny to get at, but keeping fluids clean is paramount, if you expect high trouble free miles. Oh yeah, spark plugs, air filter, spray out throttle body, maf sensor with proper sprays. No to any engine/trans additives.
