Why not sell it now and make a profit?

well I have about $900 total into it ( paying friend and trailer rental ) and after I get it running? $$$$$ price goes up about $1,000 fair condition trucks like that go for about $4,000 on kbb the mechanic thinks it fuel related too. I already have a replacement fuel pump from a truck identical to it. Plus I have a front clip and front seats and a new front bumper.

a used fuel pump? That truck needs a lot of work before its road worthy. Change all fluids, brakes will need work and I bet it needs tires too, that is if you can get it running. IMO you didn't do the research first. You paid about 700 for the truck and from a reasonable estimate on my end it needs about another grand or so to make it road worthy and safe. I would not trust the brake system or tires. The calipers could be frozen, rotors are more than likely rusted, the main brake line loves to rust right at the fuel tanks, the shock and spring housings on the front are probably rusting, same with the shackles on the rear, tires could be dry rotted and worn, core support could be rotted away to nothing, and that's just without the truck running

I saw much better truck deals near you. I would sell it now and start over.
