    Light on the gun

So when I drop something outside, I can look like a total badass when I go try to find it again...

I bought a Streamlight Super Tac X flashlight from Academy Sports for $80 (could've got it cheaper online) and I love the look of a huge reflector on a rifle. So for the past month I've been shopping for the perfect light mount. I wanted a mount that was straight off the side, not too clunky, metal, and cheap! I found this Fenix ALG-01 mount for $12 shipped online. Its specs called for a larger diameter flashlight (the Super Tac X is 0.90" or 2.3cm) but with the included spacer, I just synched it down a couple turns tighter. I might have to wrap it once with electrical tape so I'm not stressing the joint too much. So far I like it. It fits my criteria and I've got minimal barrel shadow with this setup. I am a lefty so my support (right) hand has access to the on/off switch on the back of the flashlight.

Ryan, I'm not going to lie, the AR is a little more fun, albeit more expensive. So far I think I've got $1,300 into it.

I paid $699 plus tax for my Remington 1911. So ~$750 out the door with just two magazines. I think Colts start at around a grand a piece. You could get a DPMS AR-15 for that much. After mods, ammo, and extras, I've got about $1500 into my 1911 setup (including reloading equipment, brass, etc). Its nice to carry but I'm going to retire it to a truck guy and by a Sig SP2022 9mm for carry.

Of course you live in Kommiefornia, so a 1911 might be easier to get for you.

I know, especially with the lovely (just kidding she's old and ugly) Sen. Dianne Feinstein as one of our state senators. I want by her definition, a so called "assault" rifle, there's a gun shop around here that has an M4 that looks really nice and comes with a sight and a few extra goodies for around $1,200 I believe. But if I can find an AR for cheaper I want that and will just mod it like you did yours. Just all black lol. But first I want the 1911 because I want a handgun before they make those illegal too lol. I would like the original Colt just because it's iconic, but I know it's expensive. I might have to settle for a Remington or another brand that makes a 1911 for a little cheaper.

Rhino if your gonna drop that kind of coin go for a Kimber, carry or ultra carry. The 1911's are crazy it's like they were made just for you, no matter what size hand you have. By far the most ergonomic design of any hand gun and is was designed so many years ago. When I was in the Air Force my every day carry was m16 and beretta m9 (92fs). But I was on the EST ( SWAT) so I also was allowed to carry 1911 and MP5. Also on a 13 man Mobility team and carried M249B and I chose the 1911. By far the best hand gun I have ever fired. I currently own beretta px4 storm ( modern version of 92fs) and turkey/deer combo shotgun. Next on the list is Kimber ultracarry. No matter what brand you go with the design is the same they all feel the same. You just have to decide what barrel size and cal(.22 or.45)

I just like the Colt one, but yes like you said other brands make them exactly the same way lol. I haven't decided completely on brand yet, just saving up. Maybe a great deal will catch my eye. And I can't have a .22 1911 lol, it's gotta be the .45 or nothing.

Glad you said that. .22 is just a plinkster for cans and bottles. If you get the .45 keep your wallet out, rounds aren't cheap. Not lapuia cost like Joe but not cheap.

Reload. Start-up cost is a couple hundred bucks but I'm reloading at $0.16/rd and I've bought enough supplies to make 1,000 rounds before I need to buy more
