Ha, ha, that's right, but I'd have to get him off my couch first! You'd think just starting out as a wrench turner he'd be interested in hanging out in the backyard shop where I have the ol F-150 completely torn down. Maybe learn a little. But no, he comes over with my daughter and camps out on the couch all day, phone in one hand, TV remote in the other. Sad, very sad this younger generation!
Hey when I was his age, girls were more important than cars or motorcycles too. He probably will never be a gear head, some aren't. You either have the bug, or you don't. Next time he has to pay some schmuck $1,000 or more, you can remind him about how you wanted to teach him.
Yeah, when I was his age I had already finished 4 years of active duty Air Force working on multi million dollar fighter planes, and was just starting out turning wrenches in gas stations! Got tired of working for a living so I went into the federal government. But over the years I built my shop out back and outfitted it really nice. And like you said, I still have the bug, but now I can do the stuff I want to do. Sit out there maybe turning a wrench or two, maybe not. Depending on how I feel! Me and my head of shop security, Mr. Rusty Shackleford! Also known as man cave security chief!! He's the only one allowed out there without special permission!
You probably get more help from Rusty than your daughters Beau. Have you taught your furry friend to bring you a wrench or ratchet? Or at least a cold beer!
DSCF0002.jpgDSCF0013.jpgYeah, I taught him but he doesn't seem real interested in helping me out that way! He does a pretty good job of guarding the beer refrigerators though! Lets me know if there's an intruder about to get into my stock! Good boy!
