Brand new member with a Brand new mall crawler!

    Hey everyone,

    The name is Derek and I picked up my 2nd f150 today. I previously owned a base model 2008 f150 XL with a 4.6l 2v. However, today I got a 2011 with the 5.0!

Purchased originally because of the need for a back seat, I fell in love with this truck at first sight. The truck is in awesome shape, and the frame and underbody are even better! (That's rare for NE Ohio)

It came with Line X in the box, 33 inch tires, and a 2" level. Likely won't mod much as I use it to pull my boat and for hunting (which means it'll take a small beating), but I am very interested in little things like LED lights and what not. Also tow mirrors! I guess we'll see what the future holds!

Welcome to the forum and nice looking truck!! Tow mirrors aren't to difficult to swap out on your own. As for LED's check out F150leds.com they have kits made especially for these trucks and many members on here have nothing but great things to say about them. I know you said no mods really, but a tune might be worth it for when you tow and such, just a suggestion. Welcome again!

Honestly I pull a 16ft jon boat and a solid enclosed 20 trailer. Need the ability to do that for duck hunting! Is a tune still worth it when pulling 2000 pounds max?

    Thanks for the suggestions!

Welcome and nice looking truck. Ur truck will pull just fine without the tune but will pull better with the tune. Research is key and 5 star tuning is a great place to start and finish. My 5.0 is not tuned but will be hopefully by spring-summer. Others will be by later to let u know the benefits. It's just all in what u want or need. Again welcome

Yeah my 4.6l pulled the stuff just fine... the fact I couldn't spin the tires in that, and can easily in this, has me excited. Saturday the truck will get its first big use hunting and towing with me.

The 5.0 will pull that like it wasn't even there. But the tune will just make it even easier, you can also get economy tunes for the long drives with the truck only (no towing). Just a suggestion to think about. Plus who doesn't like going faster and beating every other truck? Lol

Meet the midnight rider!!! F150leds.com is the best source for all of your led needs
    Custom Ford F150 LED Lights - F150LEDs.com
There the best. I have em all. And I swear by them
I also know that your truck will pull it all. Pulled my enclosed race trailer with no problem. Long story short I sold the car and the trailer and made the midnight rider a beast. There are plenty of options in the aftermarket world. But for Ford? 5star tunning is a very good choice. They have there A game in full effect all the time. Before the sale. After the sale. And whatever in between. It doesn't get any better than that

Again. Welcome to the forum and I'm always here to help. Sweet ride. And you have great taste lol
