Just joined...Just got me a 2008 f 150 lariat had to put a new motor in...heres why..
Later part of September I went to look at this truck ran good drove good so I brought it for $9,250 was asking 10,000.. so I brought it..had it a day was gonna go get it serviced..got serviced ran like crap sounded like a big diesel took it back to garage 3 guys said cam phasers are shot, guy who drained oil said it came out like a glue substance.. The guy I got truck from brought it brand new in 2008 here we are in 2015 he hasn't changed oil once he just put additives in oil never changed it...so that's why I put new motor in...

Wow, seriously, never changed the oil? How many miles on the truck? Truck decent other than that? Post some pics and welcome from IL. The wife is from NE IA.

The truck when I got it had 99,992 miles on it...the guy ain't too smart I really don't think he done any thing to it maintenance wise does have rust on cab corners on both sides....runs good drives good with. Ew motor...new from ford cost me 5,195 with 3 year unlimited mileage warranty...If I drive it to flordia and have motor issues tow to nearest ford dealer will replace free along with labor

He must've changed it early on. Almost 100K on oil just seems impossible. But still the fact that it never really got done in such a long time is mind blowing. That guy is a ******* and it sucks you had to pay for his mistakes. But at least you got a brand new motor and a good warranty. Originally Posted by Alan
