Thread: 2014 f150 platinum vs 2016 f150 XLT fx4

I have an opportunity to pick up a 2014 platinum 4x4 for $21k with 50,000 miles.

I currently have a 2016 XLT FX4 with 90,000 on it. Both my truck and the one I’m looking at have the 3.5 eb. Love my truck, but can’t help but think it may be wise to swap for fewer miles and higher trim level for resale or longevity.

I don’t inherently care about platinum but I would like leather, even if I added to my XLT.


Will the platinum be worth more resale in 4-5 years? Is the 2016 a better truck? I currently get 16.5mpg combined with raptor take offs.
Will 2014 do the same and will I fit my raptor take offs?

Which will tow more? I occasionally tow 10k-11,500lbs
