2012 f150 5.0 transmission in low gears issue

Hey guys, as the title says I’ve got a 2012 platinum with the 5.0 engine with about 39xxx miles. I’ve been noticing lately while in parking lots or when barley pushing the gas pedal the truck seems to surge trying to shift. I can’t really re create the issues so I haven’t taken it to the dealership but I’m assuming this is a transmission issue in the works. Any advice or past experience with this?

    Thank you

Run a codes check with a quality scanner to be sure theirs no codes gumming up the works. If no codes, you might try pulling - battery cable, leave off for about 20 minutes or so. Reconnect it and let the computer do it's thing to relearn all the shifting points, and driveability from fuel system. It's possible if you installed a new battery or somebody disconnected it, your system is trying to relearn the parameters.

No codes. I pulled battery cable as suggested. Had no issues for about 2 weeks and the same issue just came back last week. Seems to happen after placing truck in reverse and then placing it into drive.

The fact that the problem went away for 2 weeks then returned, leads me to electrical. The throttle body failures are known problems on these years, possibly causing the surging.Making it do the problem holding it at that point, till it sets a Dtc code, it will. Some of the issues with the F150/Expeditions are tough to set codes. Are you going to fix? Or are you bringing it to a shop? Keep us posted.

I still have an extended warranty on my truck so I would like to just take it to the dealership to fix. My only concern is that I will not be able to recreate the issue while there. If it’s a known issue they should know what I’m talking about but I’ve had dealerships play dumb before to save themselves the hassle. I would prefer it causes a code to be thrown so I can have it taken care of but until then I’ll try and look into the throttle body failures and see if the symptoms are similar to what I’m experiencing.
