    2013 F150 Door Holds Water

My back driver side door is holding water. Can’t figure out why.. Anyone hear of this before? I have seen a couple other vids on YouTube with the same issue.

The grommet you pulled to allow the water out is where water is supposed to drain . Vehicle doors aren’t water proof and have weep holes to allow drainage . Check the grommet to see if it’s damaged or if the small flat slit is blocked. If not you probably have a leaf or sludge from decayed leaves and dirt in door that are building up and collecting inside door at the grommet location . Flush the door by pulling the grommet and have someone slowly run water at top outside of door by window with the window in up position while you snake out the door at grommet hole to allow dirt , sludge, leaves or other large particulate matter to flush out . I’ve used cut pieces of wire hangers , thin plastic bristle brush type cleaners, pipe cleaners, or what usve you . I used on of those small as seen on tv hair drain snakes with the Velcro type material at the end also . Almost anything will do . Use your imagination .

    Your welcome .

You’d be surprised what and how much can get inside these doors . Leaves easily stick to windows in rain and slide right down in there. It took a while to clear one on me years ago that would happen on and off. Apparently a sheet of paper from an advertisement probably slid down and took a while to break up and disintegrate. Pulled out parts of that on and off for a month or so . When you pulled the grommet you probably disrupted whatever was stuck and with the water pressure it blew it or part of it out as that hole is bigger also with the grommet out .
