    2011 f150 rattle solved

Been chasing an on and off metal rattling sound (for a year) from bottom of engine on drivers left side . Ruled out brake problem, IWE, and wheel hub. Could never find anything loose either. It became progressively worse the last few weeks when engine was under load at low speeds and shifting between first and second. Was worried it was flywheel or torque converter or something transmission related. Did a little more diagnosing and searching around under the truck and found this......... . Heat shield clamp which never looked out of place or moved . Located on cross pipe of exhaust on drivers side of the shield . I always suspected the exhaust system or maybe a cat but could never find anything. 2 bucks for a clamp and 2 minutes and I was back in business. No serious issue, and no more annoying rattling. Happy, happy, happy!

A bad day of hunting or fishing is better than a good day at work !
