Thread: New old truck

Hey guys just added a Ford to my collection it is said to be a 79 f100 fairly solid. Needs some work done to box front of it is rotted away from box sides, never seen that happen but oh well. Also floor pans needs fixed. Now it is a 302 with 3 on the tree, my question is it has round headlights and split grill I don't know alot about these years but I thought it should of had square headlights.

Welcome to the forum! As for the headlight question, your truck was likely a fleet vehicle. Does is have badges that say "Custom" anywhere? 79's came with square headlamps but fleet owners could order the circular ones. Either that or a previous owner swapped them.

Okay so now to the main qurstion. The truck bed has rotted out at the front corners where it meets box sides and along bottom side front rail. Is there a way to save this I am on a tight budget and have 1/4 flat stock and can get more steel also I do weld for a living.
