Thread: Lift or level?

I have a 2010 f150 stock 2wd and I'm thinking about either a 2 inch lift or a leveling kit, I plan on running my stock wheels 265/60/R18, and what's the cost difference? I know the level will cost around $300 but the lift i dont know, before I make any decisions I want to see what y'all think.

Well if you lift it 2 inches you'll need to raise the front about 4 to keep it level with the rear. IMO a leveling kit is nice. Gives the truck a nice stance and doesn't affect the factory handling and ride as much as a lift kit would.

levelling kit ftw. got my truck levelled, makes it look so much better and still rides pretty much the same. Do any companies even make a 2" lift? if you only want the truck a couple inches higher just do a level and block in the rear. guy on my hockey team did 3" level and 2" rear block. looks great, rides decent

Would I need to replace the ball joints, sway bars etc?

This is what I'm currently looking at, but my second option is to just do the spacers only.

Alright here is the what my truck looks like, sorry for the long wait, in your personal opinion what do you think will look better the lift or the level?

But what's the cost difference, cost of unit and cost of installation?

If you do the leveling kit? No. All it is is just a circular block that goes on top of your coil overs between them and where they are bolted to the frame. Just adds space to level the front.

Lift kit will be more because of all the extra parts an extra time to install. How much exactly I can't tell you. As for the leveling kit depending on which brand it will be $200-$300 for the kit. Install depends on who does it. But it's definitely something you can DIY. Plenty of videos from the companies that make them that show how to install them. Takes a few hours and some basic tools but not too difficult. I'm looking to do it over winter break if I have the money for mine, if not then next summer.
