    "Check Charging System" message

First the basics: I have a 2007 King Ranch with the 5.4L 3V Triton motor and with 187K miles.

Lately the battery light on the dashboard has been coming on for a few seconds at a time, and today it came on again and the message "Check Charging System" was displayed for a minute or two.

I know the previous owner had some issues with the alternator and charging about a year ago, but I don't know exactly what the problem was or what was done. I think the alternator was replaced. I've owned the truck 7 months without any electrical issues until now.

What gives? Is this a known issue? What should I be looking at under the hood? Thanks!

Your truck just gave you your answer lol. Check your charging system, just because the alternator may have just been replaced, doesn't mean it can't go bad again, especially if it was a cheap replacement. Have it checked out at a shop or auto parts store. Check the wires and connections to your battery, could be a loose connector or your battery could be leaking and causing the terminals to corrode.
