Question 2001 f150 over drive liteblinking

OK, I drove across some dozer tracks the other day, rough, not bouncing, the over drive lite started blinking, now it won't shift into drive. I found a loose ground connection on the battery(fixed), checked all fuses (dash and under hood)all good now. retrained according to owner's manual, still won't shift up. Appears to me it's in limp mode. Don't know how to check relay's, so I don't know which one's might be the bad guy or if it could be something else. Trans has been "A" OK up to this point, fluid is perfect, No slipping, changing gears correctly, etc.. Any idea's anyone?? I'm not believing that the trans just took a S_-t all at once, doesn't make sense to this old man, lol , electric things just quit, mechanical things show signs of failure, before it breaks. But I don't know what controls the trans elec.'s and which patrs.
