We were out offloading this weekend, and my son broke his drive shaft.

He was able to find one free on Craigslist and a friend drove it out to the desert for us.

Here's where we need help....

The drive shaft that we got, was the correct length, but when we tried to put U-joints in it, we discovered that the holes in the shaft were a different diameter than the one that came off his truck. We were able to hit up a couple auto part stores, but we couldn't find the exact U-joint to match up his bigger yoke and flange to the smaller drive shaft holes. We got one close enough to get him home but it has a vibration, I'm sure because there some slop in the U-joints.

My sons truck is a 2002 F-150 extra cab 2WD with a 5.4L and an automatic trans.
The replacement drive shaft came off a 2001, but we don't know what model or engine it had. Do, the differences in engine relate to a different U-joint size?

Any help on a combination U-joint that will fit the different hole sizes we need, or does he need the correct driveshaft?
