    Front end grinding 2013 FX4

Getting two sounds from my truck, one is in 2 wheel drive while taking soft turns I hear a grinding from the front passenger side (pretty sure that's IWE), however the other one that's bothers me more is in 4x4 I'm getting a RMP related whirling/grinding sound, only makes the noise in 4x4 and the faster I go the louder it gets. I've stopped using the 4x4 till I can take to the dealership and have them fix it under warranty.. was just trying to get ideas as to what it is before they lie to me. I'm assuming it's IWE and possibly front drive shaft combo?

On my 06 I had similar noises and it was caused by a vacuum line not holding up

old thread, I know but for future reference for others.

I just fixed an issue that the dealer said was a bad IWE which ruined the hub

Turned out it was a broken vacuum line. Every time you accelerated the grinding started, when you let off it stopped.

I finally figured out that when you did that, vacuum dropped which was partially engaging the hubs causing the grinding.
