Used mother's aluminum and mag polish on the wheels a week or so ago. Turned out really nice. So i used it on my bed extender. And the rag turned black ( says it is suppose to ) what is that black stuff? It turned out really good for the most part ( that I've done so far )

you shouldnt use that stuff on the wheels...ford wheels are clear coated and that stuff will scratch away the clear

wouldn't that do the same thing? Or non gritty stuff? Would a rag work just fine? I mean I'll use a soft brush like an old tooth brush.. I would think the stiff bristle brush would scratch?

no the brush wont scratch and rubbing compound is meant for clear coat..metal polish isnt
