    Best Kind of Speaker?

So after a terrible experience with Best Buy employees that were no help at all, I'm wondering what is the best kind of door speaker, 2-way, 3-way, or 4-way? I kinda understand the difference but not really so if someone could explain that too it would be great. Just inquiring so I can start pricing out my replacement door speakers. Thanks in advance!

IMO I like 3 ways. You get your highs. Your mids. And your lows. All rolled into one. I don't think I've ever purchased anything else lol.

Thats what I was thinking was the best, but then what does the 4-way speaker offer that the 3-way doesn't? Anyways, the 3-way Pioneer door speakers that would fit in my truck are on sale for like $40 a pair, not including the adapters and wiring harnesses, and I think the head unit I want is on sale for $100 too.

And what do you think with just the speakers Joe, great sound? I'm not planning on a sub or amps, so will I still have good sound? At least better than my stock setup with 2 blown rear speakers and no bass? Lmao.

Dude that's all I had in my 03 pioneer 250w 3 way speakers. Powered by my 40x4 head unit. They sounded great. And I mean great. I payed about the same on amazon. Got em in three days.

Sweet deal, I don't have extra space for a sub or amp lol so this'll be nice. Since the dumb@$$es at Best Buy couldn't help, what am I looking at to hook it all up. I know I need an adapter and wiring harness for the head unit, but what about the speakers? Same thing, adapter/harness, or just unplug the old and plug in the new?

Yeah, a mechanical engineer, not an electrical engineer lol. And so possibly a little splicing/soldering for the speakers then? Not too bad, hopefully when I get them, the geniuses at Best Buy can help me find the right stuff. Only reason I want to get it there is because it's on sale and I have a bunch of gift cards there.

It'll be Pioneer for sure, both head unit and speakers. Great price and great quality. And shrink tube? What is that? Lol
